In the hopes of fixing the ever tiresome task of getting friends together to do something, Go Tribal has launched a new free activity planning service. Essentially, you get all your friends to register on this website and they let each other know whether or not they are free to do something. Could this be the end of the classic mass text message stating “are you down to chill?” Probably not, and I’m not sure if this will catch on to the extent the creators are hoping for. Facebook event invites essentially get the job done and just about everyone in the world is already on that. Go Tribal can connect with Facebook which means that you’re sort of just sending out a Facebook event invitation that navigates you away from Facebook. A potentially cool feature that may emerge in Go Tribal is a built in business directory of things that everyone who’s able to hang could be able to choose from. I know the goal of Go Tribal is to create an informal feel about meeting up, but if I have to create an account and RSVP, that feels like a little too much formality for a spur of the moment activity.
